About · est. 2009
Four people.
Two vans.
17 years of roofs.
Ridgeline started in 2009 with Marcus, a borrowed van and the terraces of Hillsborough. Seventeen years on we're still small on purpose — working out of a yard in Attercliffe, one roof at a time.
The crew
Who's on
your scaffold.
Marcus Ellery
Founder · slater
Started on the tools at sixteen with his uncle’s firm in Stocksbridge. Surveys every job himself and still lays slate most weeks.
Danny Okafor
Lead roofer · flat roofs
EPDM and GRP specialist. If it’s flat and it’s dry, Danny built it. Eleven years with Ridgeline.
Steve Whitham
Leadwork & chimneys
Time-served leadworker — code 4 and 5, dressed by hand. The one the conservation officers ask for by name.
Jess Ellery
Office & scheduling
Answers the phone, books the scaffold, sends the quotes inside 48 hours and keeps all three of the above in line.
How we work
Three rules,
no small print.
- £5m public liability insurance
- Checkatrade — Vetted & monitored
- BS 5534 fixing standards
- CITB-trained, CSCS-carded crew
- 20-year written workmanship guarantee
Fixed means fixed
The quote you sign is the invoice you get. If we find rot under the slates, we photograph it, price the extra in writing, and you decide before we touch it.
Small on purpose
Four people, two vans, one job at a time. Nothing is subcontracted to a gang you’ve never met — the people who quote your roof build your roof.
Built for the next owner
A roof should be someone else’s problem in fifty years, not five. We fix to BS 5534, use materials rated for Pennine weather, and guarantee the lot in writing.
Next step
Talk to the person who'll build it.
Call 01632 960271 and you'll get Jess or Marcus — never a call centre.
